Arena Gorda Beach

Arena Gorda Beach is located north of the tourist area of Punta Cana and is bounded by El Cortecito beach (which is part of Bávaro beach).

Its name "Arena Gorda" means in spanish "fat sand", not because the grain of sand is fat, but to the wide expanse of sand of this beach (one of the widest white sand beaches in the country).

In fact, this beach has sand as fine white as Bavaro beach and It has the Blue Flag status for its cleanliness and facilities.

On the beach many popular all-inclusive resorts were installed, so you will always see tourists on the beach.

How is Arena Gorda beach?

Arena Gorda beach has bigger waves than Bávaro beach, although it can be enjoyed without problems. You just have to be somewhat careful with the children.

Even so, Arena Gorda beach is very popular with tourists and locals, for its white sands and warm waters. Many people also come to practice water activities such as diving, kayaking or sailing.

On the other side of the sand, you can find coconut trees and tropical palm trees, as well as hammocks available to the public to enjoy the incredible scenery of this beach.
