Bayahibe
Bayahibe is a small fishing village located just 20 km from La Romana, Dominican Republic.
It has a population of just over 2,000 inhabitants, however this figure is increasing every year due to tourism.
In recent years, tourism has become the town's main source of employment, so it has improved its tourism infrastructure to accommodate the thousands of visitors it receives annually.
Bayahibe Beaches
Bayahibe's main tourist attraction is its amazing beaches, which are also free of sargassum. Two beaches stand out:
Bayahibe Beach
With the same name of the town where it is located, Bayahibe Beach is the most popular beach among the inhabitants of this town.
With white sand, warm shallow waters and not too much waves, it is an ideal beach to enjoy with the family, both adults and children.
In addition, Bayahibe beach offers several activities, such as catamaran excursions, diving and snorkeling.
Bayahibe beach is divided into two main areas: First, to the West is the private beach area, as it is occupied by an All Inclusive hotel (Hilton La Romana All Inclusive). Then, to the East, the public beach area.
At the east end of the public beach is the Port of Bayahibe where boats and ferries sail for excursions to the islands in the area such as Saona Island or Catalina Island.
Dominicus Beach
Dominicus Beach is a little far from Bayahibe Beach, about 6 kilometers to the south. However, this is not a problem since most of the All Inclusive resorts in Bayahibe are located on Dominicus Beach.
Many foreign tourists who visit Bayahibe, stay in hotels in Dominicus beach, so people have already baptized it as the "hotel zone" of Bayahibe.
And as for the quality of Dominicus beach, it has white sand, warm and transparent waters, surrounded by lush vegetation, a postcard of a Caribbean beach paradise.
Not to be missed is a visit to the friendly Bayahibe Lighthouse, located on the beach of the resort Iberostar Hacienda Dominicus, which by the way is one of the most recommended hotels in Bayahibe.

Bayahibe Map
Unlike Punta Cana and Bavaro which are located in the border zone between the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea, Bayahibe is completely on the shore of the Caribbean Sea.
Another good fact is that the Bayahibe beaches are not affected by the arrival of sargassum.
Many consider Bayahibe to have better beaches than Punta Cana although it has much less tourist infrastructure. Let's see the Map of Bayahibe:
